Last month, we passed along information from Toyota and Lexus about an immediate recall, with companies declaring that a warning light
could come on at the same time the car could start shaking and stall. The premise was scary enough, until the company admitted it had “no solution” yet. Thirty days later, it seems a new, updated Toyota and Lexus Recall
has an explanation.
The recall is due to an issue with the engine block, where combustion takes place. Because of a manufacturing error, the engine block could leak coolant or oil, which may lead to a stall or fire while the engine is in use. Drivers may first notice warning lights and chimes, increased engine noise, and/or engine smoke.
