How Can I Avoid Car Accidents in 2020?

Chances of Getting into a Car Accident / Motor Vehicle Accident Attorneys / Orlando Oviedo Winter Springs Altamonte Springs Longwood Lake Mary Lawyers / Beers and Gordon P.A.Looking back on the past decade, some of us may have experienced a couple of fender benders here and the occasionally serious accident there. Or maybe it wasn’t us. Maybe it was someone who called us and shook us with news they had been drinking and got behind the wheel or a loved one who faced a lawsuit after a crash they thought was no big deal.

Question is… what do we do going forward? How can we become safer, better, more thoughtful drivers all around? Here are three tips for avoiding car accidents in 2020:

1. Calm down. A high number of accidents and incidents are caused by anger, by drivers who lose their cool and react. If someone else chooses to be aggressive and dangerous, understand that a similar response of impatience will only increase the risk of an accident. For you, for them, for everyone around you.

2. Avoid the “It’ll be fine” rationale for driving, unnecessarily, through unsafe conditions. We’ve all been there, looking through a window at the pouring rain and thinking about all the “stuff” we had to do across town. Most of the time, those things can wait. The rain will pass.

3. For parents raising soon-to-be teenage drivers, demonstrate the kind of patience behind the wheel that you expect from them under your supervision. To experience safer roads, we need a generation of safer drivers.
